Welcome to 'The Wise Use Of Mires And Peatlands' website. This website contains the complete draft document in Adobe PDF format. To view a statement detailing some of the information contained within the document, visit the Statement page. To view the complete document, visit the Table Of Contents page and choose from the list of downloadable chapters. This draft document has been prepared following the joint IMCG-IPS meeting which took place in Wageningen, the Netherlands on 30th March 2001. It takes into account the suggestions made at that meeting as well as numerous suggestions submitted in writing both before and since the meeting. There is no great change to the overall shape of the document. However, incorporating the numerous suggestions for improvement which we received has resulted in considerable changes to the text. It was decided at Wageningen that the document was generally agreed, subject to a consultation phase when the final document was ready. This is the final consultation draft. We would be grateful if any suggestions for improvement could reach us in writing before Friday 28th June 2002. It would be especially helpful if suggestions were copied to both of us. We request that suggestions for improvement should be in the form of specific new text or alternative text. Once these final suggestions have been taken into account, it is proposed to publish the text. There are a number of areas where we are still checking facts, figures or references. These are highlighted in blue throughout the text. |
